.Play For Fay.
I was sent out this morning to find a feature that said something about preparing for the approaching storm formerly known as Hurricane Fay. Eventually, I met up with the UF marching band, which was preparing for the upcoming football season and trying to squeeze in one last practice before the storm hits Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. .The Beginning.
Today was the first day of school for much of Gainesville, and it totally made me want to go back and do it all over again. I spent the morning with a group of first graders for a "back to school" story, and I keep thinking of all the kids I started first grade with and how much we all grew over those 12 or so years in school together. I almost wish I could look into the future and see how this group will turn out and if they'll remember the gangly weird looking photographer who took their pictures on the first day.
